ABSTRACT

Paciente de 45 anos com quadro clínico de insuficiência aórtica devida a valva aórtica quadricúspide detectada pela ecocardiografia bidimensional e quantificada pelo Doppler como de grau grave. Essa alteraçäo é rara, geralmente näo associada a outros defeitos cardiovasculares e, frequentemente, evolui para insuficiência aórtica por falha na coaptaçäo entre as cúspídes


In a 45 year old patient with clinic diagnosis of aortic regurgitation the two-dimensional echocardiography demonstrated a quadricuspid aortic valve and severe aortic regurgitation by Doppler. The quadricuspid acrtic valve is a rare pathology, usually not associated with other cardiovascular pathologies and in which there is evolation with aortic regurgitation due to malposition of the four cusps
